State of the Tank: (cont.) |
|
I probably could've purchased half a dozen more frags but I know I'm already in trouble in regards to placing these. And like the previous acquisitions, they are currently being held for me so I don't have any pictures. You CAN, of course, get an idea of what they look like if you visit A.A.'s website. The navini is also pictured on Tyree's site as a Limited Edition.
All in all, it was a really wonderful experience for me and I'd like to thank Ming and Joleen for both their assistance and their kindness. Again guys, if you ever think about opening a branch in the, oh say, Connecticut area, just let me know.
I originally planned to have all the frags shipped back to me around the second week of September but because of the tank problem and because of Rufus, which I'll get to in a moment, I'm delaying shipment until October. Of course, once here, I have virtually no place to put them (you KNOW you're in trouble when you lose six pieces and still have no room) but at least I now have a decent frag tank in which to store them until I make a place...or eight.
Now, the really super good news this month is that I got to go to Florida and pick out Rufus. As some of you know, I had to put down BOTH of my dogs within two years of each other due to old age. So for the last year and a half, I've gone without a dog...which is the longest period in my life, if you don't count the time |

spent in that "no pets allowed except for mine" apartment in California. Well, I'm happy to announce that period is finally over. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Rufus ! He's a Chocolate Lab and a bit too young to leave Mom right now. But by the next update, I should have gone back down to pick him up and had my life thrown into complete puppy turmoil. I cannot wait.
So before we wrap things up this month, let me tell you that I arrived home from my travels on September first. There's quite a bit of tank work to do so I'm sure next month will be chock full of information. Hopefully, things will be better; I KNOW they'll be different.
And finally, I'd like to send my prayers out to all of the victims of Hurricane Katrina. This tragedy hits home for me because my wife's entire family is from New Orleans and like many, they lost just about everything they owned. But they ARE all present and accounted for which, given the complete and utter horror of the situation, is the obviously very best news of all.
Until next month then. |
