"Okay. Maybe it's not Sandalolitha. Maybe it's Halomitra (that's what it was sold to me as), but if you look in Borneman's "Aquarium Corals", check out pictures of both and you tell me. I think it's Sandalolitha. Anyway, it's another one of my absolute favorites, whatever it is. I acquired it locally in 6/01. I placed it on the bare bottom of the extreme left side of the tank (excuse the dirty 'glass') and, except for having to drag it back out of the nearby zooanthids from time to time where the crabs and snails so rudely push it, I do nothing but sit back and simply admire this piece.

All it does is stand there...like a sentinel. For all intent and purposes, it could be made of plastic. But for some odd reason, I really dig this guy. It cracks me up. Oh, and it's growing! You'd never know it by looking at it everyday, but the dome is definitely becoming higher. At this point, I'dsay it's maybe 3 1/2" tall. When I got it, it might have been 2 1/2". I included two slightly different views of this coral. For no other reason than I like it."
