"Okay. Maybe it's not Sandalolitha. Maybe it's "Pachyseris is one of my favorite 'sps' corals. Yeah, they're relatively slow growers (IME), they don't have the most vibrant colors, and the reef gurus can't seem to agree whether they like or dislike a lot of light, but you simply cannot beat it for character. It's like the Lee Marvin of corals. My 'pack' has only been with me a relatively short time; maybe 8 months, so it really hasn't done much except develop a slight, somewhat iridescent green patina that can best be seen overhead but is tough to show on film...at least on digital film. It currently stands at about 5" and asks absolutely nothing from me. I've chosen to keep it high in the water column, by the way."
