"If you'd have seen this coral when I first put it in my tank three years ago, you would've probably laughed. Barely 4" tall, three or four branches (of which one was dead and covered with coralline algae), this was a freebie I got from my LFS because it looked to be 'unsellable'. It is now the largest acro I've got at nearly 18" and with a diameter of two feet! As you can see, it has literally grown to the top of the tank. This one I frag often and by necessity with most of the frags going back to the store Ioriginally got it from. I imagine this is plain old A. formosa but I'd much rather refer to it by it's common name: my "Chinchilla Staghorn". This is because when it's polyps are extended, it look really furry. Kind of reminds me of an anorexic supermodel wearing a fur coat."
