Finally, a small colony!
This piece from Reefer Madness was sold to me last February as an A.nobilis.
It has so far maintained its unusual teal color, though the tips have gone
purple, and has done very well. There have already been some signs of growth
in that new'branchlets' are starting to pop up here and there but it has
yet to take off the way many stags seem to do. Because of its color (it's
the only really teal piece I have in the tank), it already garners quite
a bit of attention. Also, as this is supposed to be one of the easier species
to keep, I would not be surprised if this eventually became one of the
tank's true showpieces.
[UPDATE 7/04: This piece has lightened considerably
in the last month. It’s not bleaching as its corallites still seem
to be alive but it has gone nearly white. Light shock, maybe? In any event,
I’ll probably move it down a little.
I don’t know if it’ll
be enough to make a difference.
Sometimes these things tend to
work themselves out.] |
