| Ever seen a green tort? Well, this just might be one. It came to my attention through my LFS,who actually CALLED me to inform me of its presence.Of course, this was about a week and a half after it sat unsold in one of their display tanks. Now, in MY defense, I was in California at the time so I had an alibi for not duly trudging down to the stores on delivery day like a good reefer should. But after it was tentatively ID'd (by Greg Schiemer), Jason at House of Fins notified my service technician, Ray, who in turn contacted me in LA. And through a series of phone calls and email imaging (I love email imaging), we did the deal Soon after I got home; I'd say the piece had been in the tank about 10 days, it began to bleach just a little at the tips, somewhat symptomatic of 'light shock'. Not only was this perplexing because it had already been exposed to fairly intense lighting at the LFS but I (well, Ray actually)placed it about midway the tank where the levels were probably LESS than before. Fortunately, as of this writing, the color is finally coming back and there was no die off so apparently, things are going okay. I certainly do hope so as this appears to be a very unusual piece. | |||
