What we have here are two aquacultured colonies of A. horrida although one is clearly been 'paired' with something else; perhaps A. 'enchinata'. Anyhow, I've always liked the gnarled, old oak-like,growth pattern of this particular species so I though I'd pickup a couple. The 'combo platter' came from Cquarium while the other one came from Blowfish Aquatics. This was my first purchase from either of these vendors and both did a very good job in packing. Apparently, the species itself is NOT the most hardy of shippers however. Both came in with several of their tips broken and a bit lightened so I gave each of them extra time in the Lugols bath before putting them in the tank. I attribute their conditions to be from the obviously rough treatment they got in transit as,again, both were packed well and came from completely different places. It's still too early to predict success here but other than a bit more lightening on the Cquarium piece, they both seem fairly stable.
