they are. They really haven't done much; no growth but no die-off either. Still they're very interesting to look at and photograph so I hope should they finally decide to multiply, they keep their colors and pattern.
Zoanthids
Palythoa Polyps: REALLY beginning to multiply now. Very cool . I've still never seen a colony quite like them. I may eventually have to move the Caul…I mean, the Acanthastra colony behind them however to aid in its survival. The Parazanthus is completely gone now as is Zoanthus sp. 4 . This particularly saddens me because I've never seen any zoos quite like them either and I know when I eventually do, they're going to cost a fortune. Zoanthus sp. 1-3 are doing well. In some cases, too well. There are a few instances of encroachment upon other corals. Fortunately, most of the time the other coral wins. None have grown high up in the tank enough to bother any acros. What I'm trying to do is 'train' them to completely cover the (bare)bottom of the tank like a carpet by scraping up sections with a spatula (I'm not kidding) and moving then to bare patches hoping they'll take. So far, I've been pretty successful with about 40% of the bottom covered. Unfortunately, this has not been a good 'growing year' for them so things are proceeding much more slowly than I'd like. Also, I haven't been able to send out any frags so far this year. Zoanthus sp. 5 (NEW)

As God as my witness, I can't remember where I got these from. But I've had them several months now and they haven't done much in terms of spreading. But they do seem to be doing okay though so I'll just leave 'em alone and see what happens. Maybe I'll pass the time trying to remember where they came from. Zoanthus sp. 6 (NEW) I got these from Reefer Madness late last Winter because their individual patterns reminded me of snowflakes. They haven't begun to spread yet either.
Miscellaneous Growth Shots
Because of all the fragging, both intentional and unintentional, that had to be done during the previous year, we really agonized about how best to continue this section. Should we just start over and put the 'older' shots in an Archive section or should we accompany all the recent images with a caption of some kind or should we just ignore it and keep going. Well, as nice weather quickly approached, we decided to ignore it and keep going. But for those who need the caption, try this: NEW PICTURES DISPLAYED IN THE GROWTH SHOTS SECTION MAY INCLUDE IMAGES OF CORALS THAT HAVE BEEN FRAGGED. THIS IS WHY SOME PIECES MAY ACTUALLY APPEAR SMALLER THAN THEY WERE IN THEIR PREVIOUS IMAGES. DO NOT BE ALARMED (Well actually you can be alarmed all you want, just not because of this)!!! Now head on over and have fun. Go!
