Fish (cont.) |
Chromis Go!
Here, I added four new Chromis bringing the total of this shoal to 8. Since then,
they have demonstrated much more schooling behavior and actually seem to be
brighter (in color) than before. These new fish are now indistinguishable from
their older counterparts and they all bed down in the huge acro #19 (before
I had to frag it) which is a fascinating glimpse into natural reef behavior. I
would therefore assume they're happy and welcomed the company of the
additions. |
NEW! Copperband
Butterfly (Mueller's) Go!
Ordered
through The Marine Center last spring. Replaced traditional Copperband.
Completely eliminated all of tank's Aiptasia in less than 3 days.
Very personable fish. Will occasionally spat with the Purple Tang but
is unafraid and handles itself very well. Will develop bouts of 'ick'
that comes and goes on its own but as the fish gets more settled,
these bouts are fewer and farther in between. |
Hawkfish Go!
No changes. Still quite the clown. |
Heniochus Go!
Removed. See Spring '03 update. |
Hogfish Go!
Either jumped or was made to jump through the eggcrate to its death. |
Pseudochromis Go!
Couldn't be happier. See above. |
|
Tangs Go!
All doing fine. Only new observation is that the Sohal seems LESS inclined
to harass the Purple, which in turn, seems more assertive since the introduction
of the Copperband. Purple Tangs' HLLE appears to be getting a little
better too…so I guess that's really two observations. |
Wrasse Go!
Yeah, right. |
|
Clams Go!
Both clams returned to store. See Spring '03 update. |
Gorgonians Go!
Long gone. See Spring '03 update. |
Misc. Go!
The Mystery (Ribbon) Worm is also gone; taken to my LFS in a huge piece
of live rock that we couldn't get him out of. To tell the truth,
since hearing of the possibility that it could take out sleeping fish,
I'm not missing it too much. I just hope the lfs employees removed
it from the rock somehow…y'know, before YOU purchased it |
Mushrooms Go!
Still trying to control the Actinodiscus. We're winning (temporarily)
by overhauling the live rock and removing the badly colonized pieces. Individual
troublemakers we'll either shoot up with kalk or |
